The January Employment Report, which was delayed because of the government shutdown, will be released on February 11 and the January Consumer Price Index (CPI) is due on Friday February 13.
Anxiety about the health of the labor market was heightened after three reports released last week were weaker than expected. The Job Opening and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTs) in December showed that openings fell from 6.9 million in November to 6.5 million in December.
